The veil is thin and the sacred inner darkness beckons.

May our healed, wise and well ancestors (both genetic and spiritual) strengthen us as we seek ways to be good ancestors in our turn. They, too, faced times when it seemed chaos would reign forever.

Tender love to all those grieving, be it the first day or the thousandth since your beloved one went beyond the veil.

Sending tender love

On the autumn equinox, We offer up our messy, imp

On the autumn equinox,
We offer up our messy, imperfect lives
Our unfinished stories
We place them on the harvest table
And by grace, they are transformed
Into something that will nourish us
For all the winter’s lean and draughty days.

The air is cooling; the nights are descending
But within, a rich harvest table awaits its guests.
We are summoned inside.

Perhaps you enter feeling like the scruffy late arrival with petrol-station snacks
Thinking about everything you planned to bring;
But the Host of the feast says “lay it all down”

So come,
Sit beside the warm hearth
Offer your sacred crop of days
Offer your heart’s wishes
Your griefs, travails and triumphs

Bless them; eat them.

And taste with surprised delight the richness of your life
Returned to you by the generous harvest

And, full-bellied and thankful,
May you go out from the feast
With a coal of new self-trust in your heart
To warm you from within
All winter.

How have your last, um, two years been?! 😬

I hope beautiful. I hope meaningful. I hope surprisingly delicious.

I’m newly ordained (!) and fresh and downright frightening things are incubating in my heart. I’ll be ready to share soon.

and barefoot in the frosty grass, hearing,
again, the earth's great, sonorous moan that says
you are the air of the now and gone, that says
all you love will turn to dust,
and will meet you there, do not
raise your fist. Do not raise
your small voice against it. And do not
take cover. Instead, curl your toes
